Lhasa and Mount Kailash Trek

This holiday will enable you to experience the awesome scenery of Tibet, the ancient Buddhist culture and to complete a challenging trek at altitude amongst the famous Himalayas.

On arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal the holiday starts with time to appreciate this fascinating city with so many places of interest, including numerous temples.

You first travel by land cruiser and include an option of walks across the vast and beautiful plains of Tibet. The journey continues through various villages towards the scared Mount Kailash, visiting Lake Manasarowar on the way. Many Buddhists visit this holy lake in their quest for enlightenment. Once at Mount Kailash you will complete a Kora around the mountain. Many believe this mountain is the centre of the universe and the fact that it is close to the sources of four main rivers of the Indian sub continent only adds to its mystique. The Kora around the mountain for Buddhists is part of their journey to enlightenment and they regard a visit to this sacred mountain as an essential pilgrimage.

After a short flight to Lhasa, the historical centre of the Tibetan Buddhists, you’ll have a chance to visit Potala Palace and the Norbulinka, the former home and summer palace of the Dalai Lama, as well as the
