Lhakpa Ri Expedition
Climbing Lhakpa Ri (7,045m) gives you the opportunity to summit a 7,000 metre peak without needing technical expertise. This peak is a relatively straight forward climb and can be walked up. So, despite its height, summiting this mountain is an attainable goal for anyone with a very good level of fitness.
The trip starts in Kathmandu, Nepal where we organise visas before travelling to Lhasa in Tibet. Time is spent acclimatising here, which also provides an opportunity to visit this amazing city at the heart of Buddhist culture.
Lhakpa Ri is opposite Everest's North East Ridge, between the East Rongbuk and Kharta glaciers. The second camp made on the mountain is beneath the North Col, so you will be close to the expeditions on Everest at this time. From the summit, climbers will have tremendous views of Cho Oyu, Shishapangma, Lhotse as well as Everest itself.
