Everest Base Camp/Kalapathar
This trek starts with a day in Kathmandu soaking up the atmosphere in this fascinating city. There is much sightseeing to do and many places to visit, such as the Monkey Temple, The King's Palace, Durbar Square, numerous monasteries and of course there is also great shopping.
The next day we take a short mountain flight to Lukla where the trek begins, taking two days to reach Namche Bazaar. This town is the heart of the Sherpa community and here you will have the opportunity to rest and acclimatise. The trek continues through various villages with stunning scenery all around.
The weather is usually warm and sunny during the day and cool at night. This trek includes the option to visit the famous Tengboche Buddhist monastery. As we approach Kalapathar you will catch your first sight of Everest Base Camp, a hive of activity as numerous expeditions go about their business, preparing to climb the highest mountain in the world. After visiting the Base Camp you return to Namche Bazaar via a different route and once back in Kathmandu there will be time to relax and take in a little more of the culture before your return flight home.
