Climbs/Expeditions
| Ama Dablam expedition - This remains one of the most popular technical climbs and involves a four week expedition to arguably the most beautiful and distinctive mountain in the Himalayas, reaching almost 7,000 metres. | |
| Cho Oyu expedition - A five week expedition to scale the sixth highest mountain in the world. An excellent ‘first 8,000 metre peak’, supported by a top class team and co-ordinated by Kalsang Sherpa. | |
| Everest expedition - For experienced mountaineers, a chance to climb the highest mountain in the world from Tibet, on the north side, retracing the steps of those who first climbed it and supported by the very best high altitude Sherpas. | |
| Lhakpa Ri expedition - A 7,000 metre peak requiring no technical climbing with views of Everest’s North Ridge between East Rongbuk and Kharta glaciers. |
| "We had a superb
and very strong Sherpa force and because the climbers
and Sherpas became welded Into a closely knit team who
worked happily, and therefore effectively, together. It
was this that made the expedition such a success, not
just in terms of making records, but also in terms of
personal satisfaction for every member of the team. I
have been on expeditions that have reached their summit
and yet there has been little sense of success because
the group has failed to work together and there was
acrimony rather than friendship at the end of the
experience. Unless you always go alone, the essence of climbing Is team work." The Everest Years: A climbers life, With thanks to Sir Chris Bonington for his permission. |
We organise several expeditions each year, co-ordinated by Kalsang Sherpa, and we can tailor the assistance and organisation required according to each climber’s or group’s level of experience.
Although the 7,000 metre Lhakpa Ri peak (unlike others in this category) isn't a technical mountain, familiarity with climbing at altitude is essential for all of our expeditions and only experienced mountaineers should consider attempting Everest itself.
All expeditions take a minimum of four weeks and many last much longer, partly because of the scale of each operation and partly due to the unpredictable weather conditions at high altitude. Your safety is of supreme importance to us and all of our expeditions are supported by a top class team of experienced high altitude Sherpas, together with local porters and helpers.
